Yesterday's cake tasting very successful!

So this is what it looked like in our neighborhood yesterday. 

We weren't expecting it to snow at all yesterday, and when I woke up and saw this, I thought OH NO! Anyway...all 6 of my brides braved the snow and cold and turned out to the cake tasting. I was so busy, didn't even think to snap any pictures. But...it was very successful. Got a couple of confirmed orders and I think the others will most likely get back with me when it gets closer to their wedding dates. Thanks to all of you for coming out in the frigid weather, and a big thank you to my friend Nancy for coming to help. I appreciate you!

Free Cake Tasting Scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2012

Just in time for Valentine's Day...one of my free cake tasting days! If you are a prospective bride, call me to schedule a time to sample several of my most popular cake flavors. Bridal Fair at David's Bridal

I was invited to be a guest vendor at an in-store bridal fair at David's Bridal last night. So I prepared the same sample cakes that I had done for the AFA fair, except on a smaller scale. Things slowed down quite a bit after the first half, but it was fun to watch the bride's try on gowns...and of course Nancy and I gave our humble opinions on which gowns looked the nicest. Even though most of these brides aren't getting married for a year or more down the road, it still gave them the opportunity to taste my product and hopefully meet with me at a later time. Also gave me the opportunity to share my business with other vendors, which is always a great networking tool.

Another successful cake tasting...

So yesterday I had another cake tasting day. I enjoy the one that I have each year just before Valentine's Day because I do extra things like Valentine Cookies and a strawberry topiary tree. I met some wonderful people that came and even secured a few orders. We share leftovers with friends and neighbors. Lots of work? Yes, but worth it in the end. Here are a few pictures...

Another Cake Tasting Day...

Ahhh....the day before Valentine's Day...the perfect day for another one of my free cake tastings. Again, it was successful, and well worth the time and energy that I put into it... even though I have been under the weather for a few days, so it made things a little more difficult for me. Since it was just before Valentine's Day, I added a couple of other yummy treats to the table for tasting...a small strawberry topiary tree, and decorated Valentine cookies...both of which are available in my catered items. 

Update on cake tasting day...

Yesterday afternoon was my cake tasting day for prospective brides. It was successful, even though I was pressed for time getting ready. We had several different flavors to choose from:

• Fudge marble with bavarian cream
• Lemon with cream cheese and fresh strawberries
• Chocolate with fudge and raspberry
  
• Spice with cream cheese pecan and white chocolate cream cheese frosting
• Chocolate with coconut pecan filling
• Banana split cake (everyone's favorite, of course)

Bruce was very helpful in cleaning up while I was talking with my customers. Since we had leftover cake as usual, we invited some of the neighbors we had not yet met over to take cake home. It was a great way to become acquainted and they loved the free cake.

Another free cake sampling day...

If you call me at 719.597.6918 to schedule an appointment, I would love to meet with you on the afternoon of Saturday, May 9th. I usually have about 5 or 6 different cakes for you to taste...a variety of different cake flavors, fillings, and frostings, so you can choose the flavor and look that you like the best. I also have many pictures for you to view. If you would like to that day, I can sit down with you and design/customize your wedding cake. Just remember that you will need to put a 20% deposit down to reserve your date. I look forward to meeting you.
